It’s time for our winter garden and I am so excited. (I know it doesn’t take much does it) We (in we I mean DT) planted broccoli, cabbage, carrots, mustard greens, spinach, mustard spinach, bib lettuce, butternut squash, acorn squash, and garlic. I can’t wait to taste the vegetables and use them in many different recipes.
The squash are a bit of an experiment they really shouldn’t be planted this late in the season but I wanted to see how they do in our mild winters. This is our first time to do garlic, and lettuce and I can’t wait to see how they do. DT is excited for the cabbage and planted 24 plants he wants me to make tons of Sauerkraut (anyone have a tried true recipe?) he and my grandfather Pop-po really love it.
The garden with freshly tilled rows
DT with the broccoli, cabbage and spinach plants
DT plants them about 12-15 inches apart
With seeds he lightly sprinkles them on top of the rows and then covers with just a little soil
Here is the garden planted and ready to grow, Grow garden Grow!!!!
(Yes I know I am a dork)
I will be updating the progress of the garden as she grows. Grow Baby Grow!!
Anyone else have a garden they would love to share. I would love to see them!
